Barwis Methods and True Lacrosse

We are pleased to announce our affiliation with True Lacrosse – Michigan.

We will provide strength training and speed and agility training to True Lacrosse players at both our Plymouth and Grand Rapids training center locations.  Welcome to the Barwis Methods training family!

Chris Gervat, Director of True Lacrosse Michigan, commented:

“We feel this is a great partnership. We’re giving our student athletes the tools to succeed, now they just have to decide how hard they want to push themselves.  In sports, there is no entitlement. In life there is no entitlement. Barwis Methods and True Lacrosse see eye to eye on this. In order to reach your goals, and to set new ones, you have to put in the work.  We want our student athletes to know what has to be done to achieve their goals. With this partnership, we’ll do just that on and off the field!”

Brock’s Amazing Progress

As we have mentioned in a prior post, Brock Mealer has continued to train with Mike Barwis and members of the Barwis Methods staff while on his mission to defy the odds, overcome his paralysis, and walk again. His story once again garnered national media attention, as word continues to spread about his amazing progress.

Arsenic in Food

Consumer Reports recently published an article regarding “worrisome levels” of arsenic in food, especially rice and rice products.  For example, in a study conducted to determine if people who eat rice have greater arsenic levels in their body, on average, than people who do not, they found “a very strong association between rice consumption and arsenic exposure.”

Here is an article which offers some advice on limiting the risk posed by arsenic in the food supply:
